The 8th General Meeting of SEA-PHN Network was held successfully at The Westin Nusa Dua Resort, Bali on August 8, 2019. The meeting was attended by all Council Members, representatives from Associate Members, representative from the Ministry of Health. The main meeting Agenda and discussions were:

  • Minutes of the 7th General Meeting (AGM)

The meeting reviewed the previous Minutes from the 7th General Meeting held on July 18, 2018 in Bangkok.

  • Brief Updates by Council Members, Associate Members & Guests

All council members, associate members and guests shared a brief update on activities from their respective associations/organisations during the past year.

  • SEA-PHN Network 2018 Annual Report

The meeting reviewed the annual report which documented the key activities and milestones that have been achieved by the Network since its establishment in June 2014.

  • Good Nutrition – Key to Healthy Children (GNKHC), multi-country school nutrition initiative

The 5 member countries had successfully implemented this initiative in their respective countries. The meeting attendees discussed on the next steps to advocate the continued use of GNKHC to the authorities.   

  • Compilation of NPAN (National Plan of Action for Nutrition) of SEA Countries

A monograph on the compilation of NPAN of SEA Countries was published.

  • 2nd Southeast Asia Public Health Nutrition Conference

The meeting attendees discussed on the host country for the next Southeast Asia Public Health Nutrition Conference. It was agreed that The Philippines will host the conference in 2022.  

  • Potential Future Activities of SEA-PHN Network

Meeting attendees discussed and proposed ideas for future activities of SEA-PHN Network. One of the proposed ideas is advocacy of national policy and framework to other countries in the region, i.e. Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
