The 12th General Meeting of the SEA-PHN Network was held via Zoom Platform on January 18, 2023, attended by Council Members, representatives from Associate Members, and the Network secretariat. The main meeting Agenda discussed were:
- Experience Exchange and Updates on Food and Nutrition Activities/Programmes in Southeast Asia Countries by Council and Associate Members
Council members and Associate Members reported major nutrition activities from respective country/organisation for year 2022-2023.
- Update on the Network’s ongoing activities
The meeting reviewed and discussed several ongoing activities of the Network, including:
Publication of review paper on recommended energy and nutrient intakes values in Southeast Asian countries- Progress on the compilation and analysis of Food Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDGs) in Southeast Asian Countries
- Progress on the National Plan of Action for Nutrition (NPANs) in SEA countries monograph preparation
- Activities for Year 2023
The meeting reviewed several working papers and proposal on the activities to be conducted in Year 2023, including:
Continuation of the Public Health Nutrition Webinar Series
Several potential topics were discussed: Plan-based protein foods, fats and oils in human nutrition, food and nutrition security, food environment, nutrition in mental health, physical activities for different age groups, and whole grains
Proposed 2nd Southeast Asia Public Health Nutrition (SEA-PHN) Conference
Nutritional Association of Thailand offered to to host the 2nd SEA PHN Conference and that Council Members of the Network shall contribute in several other aspects i.e. provide feedback for the scientific programme, as well as promoting the participation of the conference in respective country.
- 4th Council (2023-2026) of the Network
The meeting discussed and elected the 4th Council of the Network.
